USU Fooball Ranked!

click to enlarge (if you have a strong stomach)

...#119 out of 119 by Sports Illustrated.

As a season ticket holder since my arrival on this beautiful campus, I was dismayed to see our Aggies ranked dead last in Division I football by Sports Illustrated despite the fact that we are riding a two-game winning streak into this season (last year's record: 2-10). They were also the only team predicted to lose EVERY game this season.

Other publications have us ranked as high as #114! Woo hoo.

...well, at least we have some notoriety and there is no where to go but UP. I have faith that we will be infinitely better than predicted (meaning: we win at least one). Of course, this optimistic slant is tempered by the fact that I am trying to justify the increase in ticket prices and "seat licensing fees" this year. It's getting harder and harder for me to find someone to go to the games with... (Ummm, anyone want to buy some tickets? Cheap.)

..an update:

Currently, USU is 0-1.

Despite hope and a good start, our fearless Aggies lost to UNLV (ranked #101/119) 27-17 last Saturday night.

Next week: at #21 Oregon (uh oh...)

...I am beginning to think Sports Illustrated was on to something. Last two games, our Aggies lost 66-24 to Oregon and 58-10 to the U. Well, the hot dogs were good... sigh.

Currently: 0-3

YES... they won and now stand at 1-3. So much for SI's prediction of an 0-12 season.

I worry that I am their curse - I gave my tickets to Dane and they came through.

My wife Donna's comment after hearing they won 42-17 was "How bad IS Idaho?"
